Frequently Asked Questions
How can I join?
An application can be found on the "Documents" page, under the resources tab. Applications are accepted at any time. Please contact the board by using the "email" page if you have any other questions!
When do you meet?
We typically have two formal membership meetings each year - one in the spring, and another in the summer, just before the "traditional" school year begins. There are many other opportunities for fellowship throughout the year. Be sure to check out the calendar of events for more information!
Do I qualify?
The CHIEF Constitution & Statement of Beliefs lists the criteria for membership, and can be downloaded by visiting the "resources" page.
How can I get started homeschooling / where can I get help?
Sometimes the first step is the most challenging! One of the greatest resources for CHIEF families, is other CHIEF families! Post your question to the email list, or attend a gathering - we're here to help! Also - visit the "links" page for additional ideas and resources.
Do I have to license my homeschool in Kansas?
No. Kansas state law requires that a non-accredited private school be registered with KSDE. See more info HERE.
